CARDWELL CONTINUES TO LEAD ALL “DEMS” AGAINST CHAMBLISS
( INDEPENDENT POLL STRONGLY REFUTES OPPONENT'S “ PAID FOR” POLL)
A just-released survey from independent pollster Rasmussen shows Georgia's likely voters continue to favor reporter turned Senate Candidate Dale Cardwell over his Democratic rivals. The measure also shows Dale is the candidate most strongly positioned to dislodge Republican Saxby Chambliss from the U.S. Senate November 4 th .
The survey, conducted June 4 th , is the fifth consecutive state-wide poll that shows Dale in the lead. Dale also leads his rivals among those who say they plan to vote for Barack Obama.
These results sharply counter a recent private poll, commissioned and released to the media by third place Democratic challenger Jim Martin. Martin's “ paid for ” poll purported to show he was best known and most likeable among Democratic challengers, but Rasmussen's independent poll shows Dale is not only the best known Democrat, but the most likeable, leading Martin by three points and Jones by four. (Jones is viewed “unfavorably” by a whopping 52% of Georgia's likely voters.)
Dale leads his opponents across most of the survey's most critical categories, including Independent s and Georgians with the strongest traditional turn-out: Voters 40 to 49 and 50 to 64.
Dale says, “I'm honored and humbled with the continued support of Georgia's likely voters. It shows the special interests and insiders might control the lion's share campaign cash, but they don't control me, and they don't control the people of Georgia.”
